SKI RACING: |
| Developed and operated under the guidelines
of the Canadian Ski Association, these programs are for serious
competitive young racers. For children 11 years or older Hemlock
Ski Club offers the K program. |
| The objective of this program is to give
young racers an opportunity to develop their athletic potential
and racing skills and to progress towards inter club competition
within the zone and then onward to divisional and international
levels of competition. |

| Certified coaching emphasizes physical
preparation and technical skills for slalom, giant slalom,
super G and downhill racing. |
| In this program, each athlete becomes
part of a national points system to measure their performance. |
| Training begins in the fall with dry land
training prior to the season. |
| The program is divided
into age categories: |
K1 (11-12)
K2 (13-14)
J - (15-18) |
| There is also a E2 program
for skiers registered in the Nancy Greene program who
may be thinking of continuing into K1. |
